“Verplanck Colvin – Adirondack Surveyor” on 2-18, at 2pm

Verplanck Colvin was a surveyor and explorer, best known for his surveys of the Adirondacks between 1872 and 1900. He also completed studies in the Helderbergs and had connections with the Dudley Observatory, the Albany Institute of History and Art, and the Watervliet Arsenal.  Jim Schaller will share stories about this interesting man and the Ver Planck family history in the Hudson Valley.
